  • In most of Canada, you can turn right on a red light after coming to a complete stop, unless a sign says otherwise.
  • The Exception: Turning right on a red light is strictly prohibited on the Island of Montreal (Quebec). In the rest of Quebec province, it is generally allowed.

2. Winter Tires:

  • Quebec: Winter tires are mandatory for all motorized vehicles from December 1 to March 15.
  • British Columbia: Winter tires (or M+S tires) are required by law on most provincial highways and mountain passes (like the road to Whistler) from October 1 to April 30.
