How to Correct a Name Spelling Error on Your JR Pass Order

What should I do if I made a spelling mistake in the name on my JR Pass order?

If you notice a spelling error in the name on your order, please contact JTB Canada immediately. The name on your Exchange Order must match your passport exactly (letter for letter) to be accepted for exchange in Japan.

Required Action:

  • Reply to Your Confirmation Email: The fastest way to notify us is to reply directly to the Booking Confirmation Email you received. In your reply, please clearly state the correct spelling as shown on your valid passport.

Important Policies:

  • Before Printing: If you contact us before your voucher has been printed and issued, we may be able to correct the name at no additional cost.
  • After Printing/Shipping: If the voucher has already been issued with the incorrect name, it must be canceled and a new one must be generated. In this case, a reissuance fee will apply, and you will be responsible for any additional shipping costs.
  • Warning for Travelers: If you do not correct the error before leaving Canada and the JR staff in Japan finds a mismatch, they will refuse the exchange. You would then need to purchase a new pass at the full local price in Japan.

Please double-check your confirmation email as soon as you receive it to ensure all names are correct.
