Yes, digital certificates (e-Zairyu Shomeisho) issued online by the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs are fully accepted as valid proof of residency for purchasing the JAPAN RAIL PASS at JTB Canada.

How the Verification Process Works:

Since these are digital documents, JTB Canada is required to verify their authenticity through an official government portal. To process your order, we will need the following information from your certificate:

• Certificate Number (証明書番号)
• Access Code (アクセスコード)

Submission Guidelines:

• Format: You can provide the certificate as a printed hard copy or show the digital PDF on your smartphone screen.
• Legibility: Please ensure that the QR code and all identification numbers are clearly visible and have not been altered.
• Language: The search portal can be switched to English, but the primary verification will be conducted using the codes provided on the Japanese document.

Using the digital version is highly recommended as it speeds up the verification process compared to older paper formats.
