Yes, you can upgrade your Japan Rail Pass by paying the difference in price. This includes changing your seat class (e.g., from Ordinary to Green) or increasing the duration of your pass (e.g., from 7 days to 14 or 21 days). Please note that downgrading your pass (decreasing days or class) is strictly not permitted once the order has been processed.

The procedure depends on whether your physical voucher has already been issued or shipped:

1. Before Shipping or Local Pickup:

If we have not yet printed or dispatched your original Exchange Order, we can simply adjust your booking. We will process the payment for the price difference and issue the updated pass immediately.

2. After Shipping or Local Pickup:

If you have already received the physical voucher, the following steps are mandatory to ensure the update is reflected correctly in the JR system:

• Return the Original: You must return the ORIGINAL unused physical voucher to our Richmond office (via mail or in-person).
• Reissuance: Once we receive and verify the unused original, we will cancel it and issue the new upgraded voucher.
• Additional Costs: You will be responsible for the price difference between the passes, plus new shipping/delivery fees if the voucher needs to be mailed to you again.

How to Request an Upgrade:

To request a change, please reply directly to your original Booking Confirmation Email. In your message, please clearly state your request (e.g., "Upgrade from 7-day Ordinary to 14-day Green"). Our team will review your order and guide you through the payment process for the difference.
